  1. Objective

The Field Coordinator will oversee and support the effective implementation of research activities at the field level. The position plays a critical role in ensuring quality data collection, community engagement, and logistical coordination in line with the project’s objectives. The Field Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact between the research team and the field, ensuring smooth execution of tasks and strong stakeholder collaboration.

2. Responsibilities

Program Implementation and Field Coordination

  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of project activities in target locations, ensuring alignment with the approved work plan, timelines, and allocated budget.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community-level interventions such as workshops, trainings, focus group discussions, and outreach activities.
  • Monitor implementation progress regularly, flag operational or programmatic challenges, and provide timely updates to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule and that field data collection processes are consistent with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) standards.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with community members, leaders, and other stakeholders to encourage active engagement.

Capacity Building and Field Team Supervision

  • Plan and deliver capacity-strengthening sessions for field staff, volunteers, and community representatives to ensure understanding and alignment with project objectives.
  • Provide technical and operational support to field teams, offering real-time guidance and resolving issues that arise during implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination

  • Build and sustain partnerships with local NGOs, government entities, service providers, and community-based organizations to support project delivery.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager through regular reporting, including the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Ensure that field-level data is complete, accurate, and feeds into the project’s overall monitoring and evaluation system.

Logistics and Operational Support

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for field activities, including transportation, venue booking, and materials preparation for trainings and events.
  • Ensure proper use and equitable distribution of project resources and supplies at the community level.
  1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
  • Lead data collection efforts in the field, ensuring timely, accurate, and relevant information is captured in line with the MEL framework.
  • Support the documentation of project activities, including capturing photos, testimonials, success stories, and reporting implementation challenges.
  • Facilitate community feedback mechanisms and contribute to adaptive learning by integrating insights into ongoing project improvements.
    1. Qualifications
  • A minimum of a master’s degree in public health, social sciences, development studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in field coordination, preferably in research or development projects.
  • Experience working with communities and local stakeholders in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and multi-task in dynamic field environments.
  • Familiarity with research ethics, data collection tools (ODK/KoBo), and MEL frameworks is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic; proficiency in French is an advantage.
